I have been trying to install this Brother printer which is supposed to be PnP, but Win10 doesn't recognize it, but just gives a small sound that printer has been connected and nothing else. No installation of default drivers. Even when I install manually, it doesn't print a test page. If I want to uninstall it says 'printer is still in use' and can't be uninstalled.

In reply to A. User's post on April 13, There is nothing in the logs for the desktop or server that relate to this problem. Has anyone come across this? I found the problem. As it turns out it was an IE security setting. The Download Unsigned Activex Controls was disabled on those desktops. Once I changed it to prompt I was able to install the printer from the webpage. Are you creating the connection as a local printer that uses an HTTP port or are the connections created as an RPC connection to the server?
The prompts are different when you connect. What I am doing is installing via the browser pointing to the server ipp web page that lists all the printers. I select the printer and click on the Connect button which then asks if I want to install the printer.
